SATS Food Industries

SATS Food Industries have extended the Preventive Maintenance and Support Contract for their Automated Systems located at the SICC2 facility, Changi Airport, Singapore. ASS Pte Ltd have been supporting SATS at this site since 2005. The extended contract includes for the support of the Cart Transport Management System (CTMS), the Cart Transport System (CTS), the Buffer Management System (BMS) and the Material Handling System (MHS). The full scope of work includes for comprehensive Preventive Maintenance, 365 day x 24 hr support both locally in Singapore and from the UK, 3rd party support for the Stratus ft Servers, Ethernet Networks, Modicon PLCs, RFID Tag Reading System and Anti Virus updates.

The contract awarded is for a period of 2 years + a 1 year option.

Further to a competitive tender exercise, SATS Catering Pte Ltd have awarded ASS Pte Ltd with a contract to upgrade the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and the RFID Tag Reading System associated with their Cart Transport System (CTS) at the SICC2 facility Changi, Singapore.

The existing Modicon 984 PLCs together with the associated 800 series I/O will be upgraded utilising the Modicon Quantum range of products. The existing system comprises 5 Modicon 984 CPUs and approx. 2000 I/O points. The upgrade allows for the existing Modbus Plus communications to be upgraded to TCP/IP.

The existing long range active RFID Tag Reading System will be upgraded to a short range passive system utilising the IDENT range of equipment as manufactured by Pepperl + Fuchs. There are 98 Tag Readers and 30 IDENT Decoders associated with the system.

The upgraded Tag Reading System will communicate to the PLCs via the TCP/IP protocol.

The overall upgrade will enable the entire CTS control system to communicate to the previously upgrade Cart Transport Management System (CTMS) via TCP/IP.

The project will be carried out in phases with an anticipated completion date of November 2014.

Rolls-Royce Singapore have entered into a framework agreement with MHA SEA Pte Ltd and ASS Pte Ltd for labour and services at the Seletar Assembly Plant in Singapore.

This agreement has been put in place to compliment the 365 x 24 hour call-out service previously awarded.

Rolls-Royce Singapore have awarded MHA SEA Pte Ltd and ASS Pte Ltd with a 12 month contract to provide Preventive Maintenance Services for the Automated Flow Lines at the Seletar Assembly Plant in Singapore.

MHA and ASS will perform quarterly Preventive Maintenance checks and provide valuable system performance feedback to Rolls-Royce via comprehensive reports.

Rolls-Royce Singapore have awarded MHA SEA Pte Ltd and ASS Pte Ltd with a 12 month contract to provide Call-Out Support Services for the Automated Flow Lines at the Seletar Assembly Plant in Singapore.

MHA and ASS will provide call-out services on a 365 day x 24 hour basis.

Rolls-Royce Singapore have awarded MHA SEA Pte Ltd and ASS Pte Ltd with a contract to provide an Andon Call System for their Engine Module Build Area at the Seletar Assembly Plant in Singapore.

The Andon System will allow local machine and assembly operators to call for Supervisor or Parts assistance via push button stations. MHA and ASS will provide 5 Area Compact PLC Control Panels to accept the input calls and drive output signals for warning klaxons/speakers and beacons.

The system is being designed for future expansion whereby a SCADA System will be deployed to enable centralized monitoring and data analysis.

Rolls Royce, Seletar

Exmac Automation Ltd and MHA Ltd have awarded separate contracts to ASS Pte Ltd to provide mechanical and control services associated with the installation of a new work platform at the Vertical Core (VC) Flow Line. The VC Flow Line was originally installed in 2011 and the new platform assists Rolls-Royce to meet their anticipated production demands.

The new work platform, which will be installed and commissioned during the period December 13 to January 14, is a replica of the recently installed platforms at the Rolls-Royce Derby UK facility.

Rolls-Royce, Seletar

Rolls-Royce Singapore have awarded MHA SEA Pte Ltd and ASS Pte Ltd with a contract to extend the alluminium work decks associated with their CDC Flow Line at the Seletar facility. The work decking that runs alongside the Flow Line is to be further extended by approx. 675 sq ft. providing additional space for Rolls-Royce to install intelligent work stations. The project includes for the relocation of existing, and installation of new services for both power and Ethernet.

ZoneSafe Products

ASS have signed an agreement with Avonwood Solutions Ltd to be the distributor of their ZoneSafe product range in the SEA region. ASS will carry out all marketing and product support activities from their Singapore office. ASS are equipped with full demonstration kits, technical data and technical manuals.

SATS Catering Pte Ltd have awarded ASS Pte Ltd with a Preventive Maintenance and Support contract associated with their Cart Transport System (CTMS) and associated PLC and SCADA Systems. The contract involves Preventive Maintenance and 24 day x 365 day call-out support.

Due to the continued success experienced in South East Asia with many of its long standing blue chip clients, Macdonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd has established a subsidiary Company in Singapore. Macdonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd has had a long standing presence in South East Asia and a long term relationship with partner company ASS Pte Ltd. Long standing partners of the ASS companies, MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd of the UK, have announced the opening of a subsidiary branch in Singapore. The new company will be known as MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) SEA Pte Ltd.

bizSAFE Level 3

ASS Pte Ltd have been approved by the Singapore WSH Council as a bizSAFE level 3 company. This approval is the direct result of the efforts of ASS’s Risk Assessment (RA) team leader Chua Kwan Hai and his RA team.

The approval follows an extensive audit of ASS’s business activities with relationship to safe work practices by an external WHS Council approved auditor.

ASS will now continue the bizSAFE journey to level 4. This involves preparing a WSHMS implementation plan to meet the requirements of SS506 (Singapore Standard).

ASS’s bizSAFE level 3 certification reference is E07391. A copy of the certificate can be seen at the Health and Safety section of this web site.

ASS are now authorised to use the official bizSAFE level 3 logo on their collaterals.

LSG Skychefs Brahim Sdn Bhd (LSGB) have awarded ASS (M) Sdn Bhd with a contract to provide enhancements to their complex SAP interface (to a major airline customer) and their Cart Labelling System (CLS). Both of these applications were provided by ASS as part of an overall systems upgrade by LSGB during 2010.

The enhancements will provide LSGB with better visibility of stock transactions between the company and the airline and printing functionality.

SATS Food Industries

Following an open tender exercise, SATS Food Industries have awarded ASS Pte Ltd with a contract to supply and install replacement Gravity Flow Racks to their Material Handling System (MHS) located at SICC2. The Gravity Flow Racks are associated with the In-Line Buffers serving the Tray Assembly and Hot Kitchen Areas of the facility. This work is associated with an overall upgrade of the MHS that was first implemented during 1995.

There are a total of 339 Flow Rack Lanes equating to in excess of 3,350 Meters of Gravity Flow Rack.
